Tasks:
• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
• Analyze operating costs and other data
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
• Create new recipes
• Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
• Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

Specific Skills: Supervise, and coordinate the activities of food servers. Estimate and order ingredients and other kitchen supplies needed. Establish work schedules and procedures for servers. Maintain records of stock, sales and possible food wastage. Supervise food order summaries according to customer’s order. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. May train new hires as food servers Ensure proper sanitation and food safety standards is followed. May determine related food and labour expense. Handle customer complaints and de-escalate.
