Wood product handler and assembler 

 

Job Title: Wood product handler and assembler (NOC 94211)

Employer: West Wood Industries Ltd.  

Location:  249 Parker Road Scoudouc, NB E4P 3P8

Wage: Starting Wage is $ 17.50/hr 40 hours per week, all raises there after would be as per the collective agreement, with a possible addition of an attendance premium of up to 3% after completion of 1000 hours

Vacancy:  10 vacancies

Terms of employment: permanent/ full time

Employment Conditions: Overtime, morning, day, evening

Start Date: as soon as possible

Job Requirements:

Languages

  • English or French

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience

  • No experience required; we will train.

Duties:

  • Prepare materials according to the specifications received.
  • Assemble the different components of doors, window sashes, boxes, pallets, ladders and barrels.
  • Inspect parts and products to ensure that they comply with quality standards.
  • Pack products or items for shipping and distribution
  • Install hardware such as knobs and hinges
  • Inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards
  • Reinforce assembled products with dowelling or other supports
  • Mark defective parts or products for repair, trim, smooth and shape surfaces
  • Make minor repairs and adjustments.

• Fast paced environment, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, periods of times bending, crouching, kneeling, overtime required, manual dexterity, repetitive tasks
