Farm-supervisor
Job duties may include the following:
· Handle machinery such as tractor, forklift, haying equipment etc.…
· Develop specific plans to prioritize
· Diagnose livestock health issues
· Direct farm feed inventory activities
· Direct farm grooming activities
· Groom horses in preparation for competitions and shows
· Handling animals
· Monitoring animal health
· Organize tasks to accomplish the work
· Oversee the activities of clearing the fields
· Treat livestock health issues
· Weeding
· Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
· Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
· Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
· Formulate feeding program
· Maintain livestock performance records
· Select livestock for sale
· Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
· Train horses
· Maintain work records and logs
· Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
· Perform general farm duties
2 vacant positions.
2 years’ experience with horses, breeding, development and handling of foals, care of competition horses and handling machinery are required.
Earning $25.00 an hour working 42 hours a week.
Legally able to work in Canada including Indigenous people, newcomers to Canada, older workers, veterans, visible minorities, and youth.
No formal education needed.
